Listen to Obituary

Janet C. Elavsky, 90, of Massillon Ohio passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026. She was born on March 23, 1936 to the late George "Brownie" and Goldie Matthews.

Janet was a devoted member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church, where she volunteered to help with the upkeep of the parish. Her time at the church formed a strong faith, and many strong friendships. Janet worked at Perry Rubber, RW Screw, and held various cashier positions over the years. On August 15, 1981, Janet married Robert "Bob" Elavsky, the love of her life. They enjoyed spending time together at the Army Navy Club, and more recently enjoyed any chance they got to go on long rides to Amish country, take in the scenery, and cap it off with a meal from Wendy's. Janet was a devoted Massillon Tiger Football fan. Janet cherished the time she spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren. They truly meant the world to her. Being a grandma was one of her greatest blessings, and her memory will live on in the family she leaves behind.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her siblings.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Bob; children Pamela (Bill) Drozda and Jimmy Geiser; grandchildren, Zack (Britt) Drozda, Megan (Tyler) Rains, Nikki Drozda, Beau (Alexa) Geiser and Colton Geiser; great-grandchildren, William "Liam", Price, Rosie, Max, Parker, Wiley, Theo, Paxton, Octavia and Oakland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Absolute Hospice. The family would like to thank them for their compassion and care of Janet in her time of need.

Private family services will be held. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
