James W. Weldon, Jr.

James W. Weldon, Jr., 85, of Massillon, passed away on March 17, 2025 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center.

He was born on September 21, 1939 to the late James and Pearl (Pennington) Weldon in Columbia, SC.

James was a retiree of the United States Air Force. He rose to the rank of Master Sergeant and served at the Pentagon and was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. After his military career he was the Director of House Keeping at Oshawa General Hospital in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. He was a member of First Assembly of God, Massillon. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and reading the Bible.

James is survived by his loving wife, Martha (Beitel) Weldon, children, Jeffrey J. Weldon, Brian P. (Anne) Weldon, and Michael P. (Michelle) Weldon; grandchildren, Lukas, Maya, Gabriel, and Fionn; sister, Celia Ann Weldon; and two nephews, Stephen and David Sikes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his former wife, Judy Osborne; and sister, Helen Sikes.

Visitation will be held at First Assembly of God, Massillon on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with a funeral service to start at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Camp, Brant Lake, NY.
