James Piper

James Piper, 81, of Massillon, passed away on December 27, 2025, at Amherst Meadows.

He was born on September 16, 1944, to Lewis and Eleanor (Lucius) Piper at Massillon, OH. He and Carol married in 1969 and were lifelong residents of the Massillon, Ohio and surrounding area.

James was a hard worker as a Design Engineer for a local firm in Massillon, OH. He had a passion for farming and owned a farm in Brewster. James loved raising his animals that he loved so much, even his exotics, his buffalo and ostrich. He and Carol truly enjoyed their family gatherings as special occasions, at Christmas and at Thanksgiving at the farm.

James was a veteran of the Army Reserves for most of the 1970's.

James is survived by his loving ex-wife; Carol, daughter; Rhonda Piper of Florida, stepson; Jon and his wife and 2 grandchildren all of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Per James request cremation has taken place and a life celebration will take place at a future date.

The family would also to recognize the staff at Amherst Meadows for their kindness and continuous excellent care over the past 14 years where James was a resident.
