James "Jim" Richard Schlemmer Jr., 71, of Canton, died of a sudden medical issue on September 7, 2026 at Cleveland Clinic / Mercy Hospital.
Jim was born on November 17, 1954 to the late James and Madge Schlemmer in Elwood City, Pennsylvania. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Accounting from Grove City College in Grove City, PA.
He was an avid lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, where he held season tickets since 1968. He retired from being a lifelong car salesman from Ferris Chevrolet.
Jim loved turtles. He was very compassionate and protective of his family and was unapologetically, genuinely Jim. He enjoyed traveling the world with his partner, Candice.
He is survived by his loving life partner of 25 years, Candice Hughes, cousin, Stacey (Jim) Litter, son, Jordan (Ally Amato) Hill-Hughes, and Charles Hughes, whom he absolutely adored helping raise, as well as many other loving extended chosen family and friends.
He is reunited in death with his parents.
Candice is looking forward to being reunited with her Jim "whenever later."
A celebration to honor the man Jim was will be on October 3, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Light After Loss, 3751 Burrshire Drive NW Canton, OH 44709.
