Hildegard Burgardt

Hildegard Burgardt, 86, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away September 2, 2026. She was born on February 20, 1940 in Kernei, Yugoslavia to the late Frank and Anna Paitz.

Hildegard was a strong, spunky and devoted person. She was independent and lovingly stubborn with a soft and tender heart. She was a talented cook and gardener, that loved tending to her plants. She inspired loved ones to learn patience and the value of hard work. Above all, her family was the most important; no matter what they needed, she was there. She will be remembered for the sacrifices she made for others, the kindness she shared, and the importance of fairness and commitment.

In addition to her parents, Hildegard was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gino" Burgardt, and son, Michael Burgardt.

Hildegard is survived by her beloved son, George (Kim) Burgardt; grandchildren, Mary Burgardt, Emily Burgardt, Morgen Burgardt, Lillianna Burgardt and Jacqueline Burgardt; brothers, Michael Paitz and Norbert (Sharon) Paitz;

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.
