Harold "Chuck" Craig Gonter

Harold "Chuck" Craig Gonter, age 57 of Massillon, passed away at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital on January 9, 2026. He was born in Massillon on November 26, 1968, to Glenn and Sandra Gonter. He attended Massillon Washington High School where he was a proud Massillon Tiger Football player. He enjoyed grilling, cooking, fishing, gardening, watching sports, caring for animals, and spending time with his two nieces who he adored. He worked at Fresh Mark, Gardner Pie, and Walmart. His favorite job was as a delivery driver for Your Pizza Shop in Navarre.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra Gonter of Massillon; brother Richard Gonter of Massillon; sister, Charlene Hubman (Mark Endress) of Massillon; brother Mike (Ruth) Gonter of Dover; nieces Stephanie Hubman of Massillon and Jessica Borton (Kyle Snodgrass) of Massillon; his beloved dog Frosty who he called "Bubba"; and his cat Oreo, who he called "Pretty Kitty".

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Emerson Lynn; grandmother Bertha Lynn; grandmother Iva Archinal; step-grandfather Dale Archinal; his father Glenn Gonter; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and pets.

Visitation will take place from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, January 23, 2026. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery in Massillon.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to go towards burial costs.
