Gregory J. Cutcher, 79, of Navarre, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2026.
Greg was born in Massillon, OH on April 30, 1947 to the late Cletus Cutcher and Donna Harris. He graduated from Washington Massillon High School as part of the 1965 class. Greg went on to join the United States Army, serving as a Military Police Officer. He then worked at Central States as a Tool and Die Maker, eventually working for Ford Motor Company, where he retired after 30 years of service. Greg also owned Cutcher’s Auto Wrecking; a small business in Massillon.
Greg loved his family, and valued any time spent together. Whether he was tinkering in his barn, turning a wrench on a car, or figuring out how to bring an old machine back to life, he always kept himself busy. He enjoyed spending time at local social clubs, where he could share laughs and stories with friends. Greg loved the thrill of competition, participating in demolition derbies, and drag racing, creating memories and friendships that lasted a lifetime. His hard-working spirit, love of engines, and appreciation for simple pleasures were a big part of who he was. Greg’s fun-loving personality will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Greg is survived by his loving companion, Janet Ellis; children Melisa Metcalf (John), Jessica Basham (Tom), and Vanessa Kleinhenz (Shawn); grandchildren Cole Carbenia, Lydia Parks (Gavin), Breanna Overholt (Chase), Caden, Carson and Annaka Basham, Sophia, Jaxon and Mitchell Kleinhenz; great grandchildren, Ezmaya and Ozias Parks, Ruby and Greyson Overholt. Greg was fortunate to have many special family members and friends. Among those he held especially close were Steve and Barb Todich, Nathan Todich (Amy), Rachel Todich, Joe Cutcher, Kim, Kelly and Tom Fox, Chuck and Joanne Zahler.
In addition to his parents, Greg is preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years whom he raised their three girls with, Ginger Cutcher and his brother, Tommy Cutcher.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 3, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44646, where funeral services will promptly start at 1:30 PM.
