Grace L. Richardson, age 86 of Massillon, died Saturday morning at Rose Lane Health Care Center. She was born on May 29, 1921 in Canton, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Harry and Osee (Shisler) Maxhimer. She was a lifelong area resident. Grace worked at the former Massillon Rubber Company and then worked at E.B. Advertising in the screening division, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Newman Baptist Church. Grace loved cooking, baking and trying out new desserts. She also loved family reunions and talking to people. Her witty, funny sense of humor always made people laugh. Grace married Louis D. Richardson, Jr. on February 14, 1942 and they were married for 61 years until his death on January 21, 2004 Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Alice Fisher and her brothers, Harv, John, Jim & Frank Maxhimer. She is survived by her sons and daughters in laws, Gary & Nancy Richardson of Massillon, Rick & Peggy Richardson of North Canton and Jim & Barbara Richardson of Massillon, her grandchildren, Scott Richardson, LuAnn Getz, Michael Richardson, Gregory Richardson, and Christopher Richardson all of Massillon, Jason Richardson of North Canton and Julie Limp, of Bluffton, SC and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Newman Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Newman Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday (TONIGHT) from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday at the church one hour before the service.
