On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Glendora Anne Brownsword peacefully transitioned from her earthly body to eternal life. Born on July 21, 1965, in Canton, Ohio, to Julia (Egan) King and Glen Brownsword, Glendora was a proud graduate of Timken Senior High School, Class of 1985. In 2013, driven by her boundless compassion and selfless love for others, she earned her Nursing degree from Stark State College. She went on to enjoy a long and fulfilling career in healthcare, dedicating herself to serving patients across Northeast Ohio until her own illness led her into retirement.
Glendora’s love for life, her kindness, and her unshakeable strength will be carried on by her daughter, Nicholette Brownsword of Canton, OH; her mother, Julia King; and her siblings, Marcia (Milton) Young, John King, and Bernard Massey, Sr. all of Canton, OH., and her sister from another mister, Marchelle (Jeffrey) Jackson of Columbus, OH Her heart expanded to include her beloved bonus daughters, Jessica Coleman of Cincinnati, OH, and Tanika Baker of Canton, OH; as well as her treasured goddaughters, Brittany Roberson of Canton, OH, Achaundae Jackson of Columbus, OH, and J’Mauri Jackson of Ann Arbor, MI. She also leaves behind nephews Bernard (Angelina) Massey II, Clayton (Tanya) Massey, Brian Ball, and her cherished niece Ricca McMeans, all of Canton, OH. Affectionately known as GiGi, Glendora’s legacy will continue in the lives of Jeslyn, Madelyn, Kalani, and Malia, who brought her immense joy.
Glendora is now reunited with her father, her maternal and paternal grandparents, her sister Monica Massey (2024), her nephew Nate (2025), cherished friends Kevin, Brandon, and Billy, and her beloved fur-grand, Cano.

More than a mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend—Glendora was a confidant, a caregiver, a counselor, and a provider. Her radiant spirit and boundless love touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed. The family sincerely appreciates the outpouring of love, support, and kindness during this difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE Massillon, OH 44646 on Friday, May 23rd from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service that begins at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery, where Glendora will be laid to rest.
