Gerald L. Swineford

Jerry Swineford, 64, of Massillon passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. He was born on June 2, 1948 in Massillon to the late Paul & Martha Himes Swineford. Jerry was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1967. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army where he received a Purple Heart. He retired from Wayne Dalton Door Co. in 1997. He was an avid motorcycle rider and enthusiast. Jerry loved his family and grandkids. He was a wonderful father and a fabulous friend. He is survived by his wife, Georgetta Stackhouse Swineford, whom he loved so much he married twice, a daughter, Ghetta (Joe) Murray, a son, Michael Swineford, three grandchildren, Joe, Matthew, Camron, a brother, Ed (Lonnie) Swineford all of Massillon and his Mini Pin, Shadow. He was also preceded in death by, a brother, Max Swineford and a sister, Jane Swineford Milhoan. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home from 1PM to 4PM on Sunday, September 9, 2012. Jerry's wish was to be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
