Florence Jane Vicente, age 89, formerly of Jackson Township, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Medina, Ohio. She was born on September 12, 1936, to the late Louis and Rose Specogna. Florence was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School.
She retired from First National Bank in Massillon (later acquired by FirstMerit and Huntington) after twenty-five years of employment holding various managerial positions and serving as an officer. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Also, she volunteered at the Massillon Public Library and served as an officer at the Massillon Women's Club.
In addition to her devotion to family, she enjoyed reading, traveling, studying genealogy, and nurturing her flowers and plants. Florence was also an enthusiastic fan of the Cleveland Indians/Guardians as well as a staunch supporter of the Massillon Tigers and Jackson Polar Bears.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Gesus 'Su' Vicente and brothers, Louis and William Specogna. Florence is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Barry Hayes of Columbus, Julie and Marc Williams of Medina, and son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Brenda Vicente of Lebanon, TN.
She will be greatly missed by her nine grandchildren, Corey (Taylor) Hayes, Cameron Hayes, Christopher (Bianca) Williams, Lindsay (Sam) Crossan, Nicholas (Molly) Williams, Matthew (Andrea) Williams, Patrick Williams, Kaitlyn (Alex) Girard, and Haley Vicente; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Vera, Bennett, Henry, Charlie, Jack, Ellis, Hayes, MJ, Lena, Scarlett, and Jade; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 20th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Paquelet & Arnold Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am on Saturday, February 21ª at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon, Ohio with Fr. Edward Gretchko as celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make donations may make them to Paquelet Funeral Home (1100 Wales Rd NE Massillon, OH 44646). All received funds will go towards a memorial bench in Jackson North Park, in Florence's memory.
