Ernest Weldon Brown, 75, of Navarre, passed away on July 2, 2025 at The Pavilion at Jackson Ridge.
He was born on January 8, 1950 to the late Edward and Olive (Wadsworth) Brown in Massillon, OH.
A 1968 graduate of Fairless High School, he received his Bachelor of Divinity from Bible Baptist Seminary in 1972. He was called to the Mission field in 1972, and began his life of service to the Lord serving in Hawaii, Ecuador, Africa, and Mexico. While in Ecuador, he founded an extension of Massillon Baptist College allowing the graduates to receive a Bachelor of Theology Degree, had a Christian Camp and started churches. He was a member of Massillon Baptist Temple. He liked scuba diving, motorcycles, classic cars, hunting and fishing.
Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Violet (Cowan)Brown; their chidren, Tami (David) Hackworth and Troy Brown; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Arza (Ruth) Brown and Margaret Jane Brown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy Urban, Linda Jones and William Brown.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Massillon Baptist Temple, funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm, with Rev. Joey Bacon and Pastor Corban Butler, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Mennonite Cemetery.
