Eric D. Thurman, Sr.

Eric D. Thurman, Sr., 54, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Eric was born on August 10, 1970 in Chicago, IL the son of Emmit and Sarah (Sheegog) Thurman.

Eric was a lifelong resident of Massillon and 1989 graduate of Washington High School. He was a licensed electrician. He worked at Berry Cheese. Eric enjoyed reading. He was a huge Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears fan. He loved watching his son Eric play football for the Massillon Tigers. He could light up any room he walked into with his beautiful smile. He was very outgoing and would help anyone in need.

He is survived by his son, Eric D. Thurman, Jr.; sister, Carlina (Bryan) Snellenberger; father, Emmit Thurman; aunts, Cynthia Sheegog and Victoria Sheegog; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Thurman, and his brother, Carlos Sheegog.
