Duane Eric Nichols

Duane Eric Nichols, age 64 of Massillon passed away May 13, 2016. He was born June 18, 1951 in Massillon to the late Willie & Ruth Nichols. Duane was a graduate of Washington High School. Duane had worked for Norfolk & Western Railroad and Gregory Galvanizing, where he was a union president. In past years he had been a basketball coach at the Massillon Boys Club. In addition to his parents, a sister Tina Nichols, a brother Brian Nichols and a grandchild Margaret preceded him in death. He is survived by two children: Melvin Ellis and Courtney Stokes; two grandchildren Parker Swinehart and Christian Ellis. He leaves a sister and a brother: Lydia (Jerry) Spencer and Gregory Nichols. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and special friends. The family will hold his memory forever in their hearts. No services are planned.
