David A. Halco, 77, of Massillon, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026.
He was born on May 28, 1949 to the late Andrew and Rita (Allman) Halco at Massillon, OH.
David worked as an Activity Therapist for Apple Creek Developmental Center, in which he retired after working 31 years.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971.
David loved the Buckeyes, Guardians, Cavs, and was a diehard Browns fan. He may have been known to us as David, but to his friends, he was known as "Peewee". His passion was playing golf, in which he achieved two hole-in-ones. In his younger years, he was a great softball pitcher. David was the best son, brother, uncle, and friend, never hesitating to help you any time you needed. He will be terribly missed by all of us.
David is survived by his loving sisters, Kathy Dunnerstick, Jayne Davis, and Shari (Paul) James, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Rita Halco.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 28th, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd NE; burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans Organization.
His family would like to thank Massillon Health and Rehab for their compassionate care for David.
