Darrelyn M. Bursey

Darrelyn M. Bursey, age 84 of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center. She was born on April 17, 1929 in Waterford, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Darrell and Edna (Beckett) Lewis. She was a 1947 graduate of the former Navarre High School, where she was involved choir, band, was a majorette, a cheerleader and was in the orchestra. She enjoyed planning class reunions for several years. Darrelyn retired from the former Perry Rubber Company where she was an inspector. She was a member of the Wellman Neighborhood Association and the Quota International. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Peggy Davis, her great grandson Wendell Washington and her former husband, Richard Bursey. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Gil) Soley, her grandchildren, Jim (Dawn) McCorkle and Dyana Washington her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn McCorkle and Ashley Hamilton, her great great granddaughter, Mimi and her half-sister Gimmy (Les) Parnacott. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10:00 A.M.at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Raymond Paul officiating. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30 – 9:30 A.M.
