Darrell Paul Wartley

Darrell Paul Wartley, 70, of Akron, passed away on December 29, 2025 at Akron City Hospital.

He was born on January 19, 1955 to the late Lewis and Shirley (Barkley) Wartley in River Rouge, MI.

Darrell graduated from Washington High School. He worked in construction until his health declined after a stroke in 2014. Known for his sense of humor, he loved to keep people laughing and loved to tell stories.

Darrell is survived by his brother, David D. Wartley and Donald Wartley; nephews and nieces, Zachariaus Wartley, Anthony Wartley, Domicin Wartley, Taylor Wartley, Ashanti Wartley, Terrell Wartley, Octavia Wartley, and Anthony Wartley; and many cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ronald Wartley, Lewis J. Wartley II, Glenda Wartley, Sameiika Carpenter, and Darryel Tuner.
