Daniel Joseph Fichter, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Dan was born on August 21, 1978 in Massillon, OH to Ron and Cindy Fichter. He was a 1996 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. He pursued his associate’s degree at the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts. Dan loved to cook and was known for being very diverse with his food choices and experimenting in the kitchen, and on the smoker.
In September of 2011, Dan met the love of his life, Tiffany Fichter, whom he just celebrated his ninth wedding anniversary in May. Together, they enjoyed sports events, which included watching and attending games of their favorite teams, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes. Dan and Tiffany loved attending their children’s, niece’s and nephew’s sporting events. Going to Massillon Tigers Games was always a regular fall event for Tiffany and Dan as well; Tiffany often worked at the games and since Dan was a Section 14 Season ticket Holder, you could catch him in the stands, rooting the Tigers on. Dan and Tiffany also enjoyed early evenings together in their driveway, with his glass of bourbon, watching their boys play baseball in their front yard.
Dan was incredibly passionate about his job as a Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Massillon, to improve the town he grew up in. Dan was a wonderful man who touched a lot of peoples’ lives and loved his friends and family fiercely.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Tiffany Fichter; his children Haley (Logan Halter) Martin, Hannah Martin, Joshua “Shawn” Martin, Emmalee Martin, Devin Fichter and Donovan Fichter; grandchildren Axton and Salem; parents Ron and Cindy Fichter; sister Jen (Jack Marks) Fichter; nephews Jackson and Logan Marks, as well as many Fichter and Stevenson relatives. He will also be missed by his mother-in-law, Dee Dee (Chuck) Margulis, father-in-law Bill Polacheck, sisters/brothers-in-law with many nieces and nephews (on Tiffany’s side of the family), and a host of family and friends.
Dan is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob & Marilyn Fichter, Roy & Juanita Kemp, and grandfather Robert Stevenson, who passed before Dan was born; and uncles Bob Stevenson and Andy Fichter.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 6 – 8 PM, at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd.
