Cristina Shaffer

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cristina Michele “Tina” Shaffer, 54, of Navarre, who passed away on May 15, 2026.

Cristina was born in 1972 and shared a special February 15ᵗʰ birthday with her mother. She was a 1990 graduate of Perry High School.

Cristina was a passionate Chihuahua lover and proud fur mama to Jax, Luna, Cali, and Benny, and was surely greeted in heaven by her beloved Lacey and Toby. She was known for having a green thumb and lovingly growing and caring for some of the most beautiful flowers her family had ever seen. A true child of the 1980s, Cristina loved the music and spirit of that era.

Cristina was caring, supportive, and deeply loved by those around her. She leaves behind countless cherished memories that will forever be treasured by her family and friends.

She is survived by Douglas Kriner, her fiancé and loving partner of 18 years; her children, Brittanie Mercer (Chad), Austin Murray, and Mia Campisi, whom she loved deeply; grandchildren, Canaan, Amira, Maris, and Yara Mercer, who always held a special place in her heart; parents, David and Susan Shaffer; siblings, David Shaffer (Denise), Troy Shaffer (Mike Donahue), and Angel Morris (Michael); aunts, Mary Kreiling (Christopher) and Laurie Shaffer; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Cristina was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Imogene Shaffer, as well as Peter and Marilyn Masalko, affectionately known as “Grandpa and Grandma Pete”; her beloved aunt, Diane “Dee Dee” Shaffer; and her uncle, Robert G. “Mike” Shaffer.

Visitation will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 1 PM to 3 PM at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd., Massillon, OH, where funeral services will begin promptly at 3 PM. Private interment will follow.
