Christian "Chris" Yingling

Chris Yingling, 76, of Massillon, passed away peacefully Monday, August 31, 2026.

He was born September 17, 1949, to the late Charles and Ruth Yingling. He was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1967 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. Chris was self-employed and retired in 2010.

He is survived by his wonderful wife, Mary (Kitty), after 57 years of marriage. He had a loving heart for everyone, especially his daughters Kristy (Vern) Williams, Stephanie (Ken Sullivan) Yingling, and grandson, Nicholas Williams. He also had a deep affection for his sister, Joanne Gourley, brothers Don Yingling, Tim (Debbie) Yingling, and his sister-in-law Gloria (William) Kline.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Rita (Larry) Spear, sister-in-law Julie Yingling, and brother-in-law David Gourley.

He loved coaching Kristy and Stephanie on the baseball field and tennis court.

The family would like to thank Woodlawn Rehabilitation Center and Woodlawn Compassionate Care for their loving care and support.

Visitation will be held at Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, OH on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 18, 2026 at 12:00 PM.
