Charles A. Lennon, 84, of Massillon, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Aultman Hospice. Chuck was born in Canton, Ohio on March 23, 1941 to Charles and Antoinette (Tozzi) Lennon.
He attended St. Joseph's in Canton and Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1959. He then attended Walsh University, graduating in the first graduating class of 1964. He later attended Kent State University, earning a Master's degree in Mathematics. Chuck began his career at General Tire, before transferring to Goodyear Tire and Rubber in 1979 working as a Systems Engineer. He retired in 2013 although continued to work as an independent consultant.
Chuck married Jane Gibbs in 1967. He was a devoted father to his 4 children, Christin Hershner, Charles A. Lennon II, Chad Lennon and Caren Lennon.
For years, Chuck played Class A baseball in Canton and was later enshrined into the Stark County Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986. As a pitcher, he was very proud of his accomplishment of earning 23 strike outs in a single game. He remained an avid sports fan throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Jane G. Lennon, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage; daughters, Christin (Steve) Hershner, Caren Lennon - Ream; son, Charles (Ida) Lennon; grandchildren, Charles A. Lennon, III, Andrew Johnson, Alexandra Johnson, and Giavonna Ream; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Chad Lennon, and brother, John Lennon.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 12 - 2 pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home. A Celebration of Chuck's Life will follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice: 2821 Woodlawn Avenue NW, Canton, OH 44708-1423.
