Listen to Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Thorpe, 53, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away August 30, 2026. He was born on July 22, 1973 in Montgomery, Maryland to Charles Wayne and Helen Elizabeth Thorpe.

Chuck was born and raised in Maryland and later moved to Ohio where he met the love of his life, Amanda. They married in 2000 and together raised a family with four beautiful children. He worked as a Union Carpenter for 20 years. During their school years, Chuck loved watching and supporting his kids playing sports. A lifelong Washington Redskins fan, he enjoyed playing on his Fantasy Football League "Beginner's Luck", and looked forward to watching football on "Soup Sundays". Chuck and his family took many vacations to the beach, and he enjoyed planning where they would go and what they would do together. He had many close friendships that he held dear to his heart, and he cherished the time he spent with them. Chuck was the "Life of the Party", always knowing how to light up a room and make people smile- his rendition of "Happy Birthday" will be missed by those around him.

Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Charles "Charlie" Thorpe.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda Thorpe; children, Samantha Thorpe, Malerie Thorpe, Ryan Thorpe, and Wyatt Thorpe; mother, Helen E. (Cousen) Thorpe; sister, Ann (Thorpe) Kish; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Susan Bierly; sisters-in-law, Peyton Furry and Cara Kay; brothers-in-law, Aaron Furry and Donald Bierly Jr.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
