Charles D. Leeser, “Chuck”, 85, of Massillon, passed away January 20, 2026.
Chuck was born on July 23, 1940, in Wheeling, WV to the late Maurice and Elsie Leeser. He graduated from Cadiz High School and was an Ohio State graduate with an Education Degree. He also served for six years in the United States Army Reserves. For two years, Chuck taught mathematics at the old McKinley High School, and later went on to work as a Computer Systems Analyst for the Timken Company. Chuck retired from Timken after 32 years of service in 1998. Chuck was the church choir director for many years, as well as singing in the group, alongside his late wife, Nancy. He enjoyed all music, including guitar, cooking, golfing, biking, and looking for a bargain at Goodwill. Chuck especially enjoyed family vacations in West Virginia, where he loved spending time and making memories with his loved ones.
Chuck will be missed by his daughters, Amy Gifford (Barry) and Susan Kokensparger (David) and grandchildren Timothy Shumway (Brandi), Emily, Matthew, Nexus and great grandson, Ryot.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Leeser; sister Maurine Huntsman, and infant son, Steven Charles Leeser.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10 – 11 AM, at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd., NE, Massillon, OH 44646, where funeral services will promptly follow at 11 AM. Interment to follow in Westlawn Cemetery of Canton. In Chuck’s honor, memorial Donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice of Massillon. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Amherst Meadows as well as Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care for their extensive care and love they had for Chuck.
