Charles Joseph Barnhart, "Chuck" to his siblings, "Charlie" to his friends, of Canton, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the age of 83. He was born on March 13, 1942 to the late Orland and Madeline {Sumser} Barnhart.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley Barnhart, siblings Bernard, Floyd, John and Delores Barnhart, and the mother of his girls, Jane Barnhart.
Charles is survived by his loving daughters Tracy (Keith) Creek and Wendy (Steve) Deemer; grandchildren Jessie (Eric Legget) Deemer, Alex (Chris McCue) Nicley, Andrew (Whysper) Creek, Kyle (Alesha) Creek; great-grandchildren Emma Karns, Tauren Deemer, Reagan Legget, Karcen Creek, Lilyanna Creek, Kaycee Creek and one on the way; sisters Rosemary Matako and Rita Brady.
Charlie retired from MRM/Ecodyne in Massillon, where he worked as a welder. He was an avid bow hunter, and was a member of Crystal Springs Bow Hunting Club. Charlie's family meant the world to him, and he was a devoted father, grandfather and brother.
Per Charles' wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private service will be held for his family. Charles will be laid to rest at Brookfield Cemetery with Shirley. To share a memory of Charles or leave a special message for his family, visit the guest book below.
