Carol Ann Meyer passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 8, 2026 at her cherished home of many years on Meyer's Lake. Born on December 1, 1943, Carol lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a strong connection to both her family and her friends.
A proud graduate of Central Catholic High School in Canton, Class of 1962, Carol’s early years of raising her children laid the foundation for a career built on trust and care for those she served. Before retiring, her role as a loan officer for Friends & Family Credit Union was not merely a profession but an extension of her generous spirit.
Carol’s feisty personality shone brightly in her everyday life. She found joy in gardening and taking care of her outdoor surroundings. Alongside her loving long-time partner, Mike Mahaffey, she treasured their regular visits to a cottage at Marblehead on Lake Erie, which brought moments of laughter and happiness that they shared together with friends.
Family was at the heart of Carol’s life. She is survived by Mike Mahaffey; her devoted children, Denise Meyer, Jim (Julie) Meyer III, and Deb (Steve Matchinga) Meyer; and her brother, Tom Wentzel. These relationships brought her great joy and comfort. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen Wentzel, and her sister, Pauline Lewis, whose memories she held dear.
Her life was a testament to the quiet strength of a woman who combined professional excellence with deep personal warmth. Carol’s memory will continue to inspire and comfort her loved ones in the days ahead.
A Private Gathering will be held by the family to celebrate Carol's life.
