Beverly Jean Carlsen

Beverly Jean Carlsen, 89, of Massillon, passed away on December 4, 2025.

She was born on October 29, 1936 to the late Edward and Viola (Stumke) Phlaum in Kankakee, IL.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Leonard; their children, Dr. Susanne L. Carlsen and Leonard B. Carlsen; and grandchildren, Sonya Kumpus, and Spencer Kumpus.

Beverly earned a nursing degree at St. Vincent's Orphanage (Daughters of Charity St. Vincent de Paul) in Chicago, IL. It was in Chicago that she met her husband Leonard of 64 years. They later transferred to Massillon, OH. Beverly retired from Perry Local School District. She loved gardening, baking, and adventuring with her friends. We never knew what those girls were up to, but they usually were home by 10:00 pm.

The family will gather with friends on Friday, December 12, 2025, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon.

A private Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
