“TOGETHER AGAIN”
Janie Ruemmele, age 97 of Massillon, passed away July 16, 2025, peacefully at home. Born in Massillon on March 4, 1928, to the late Clarence and Marie Heimsoath. She graduated from Washington High School in 1946 and married her high school sweetheart Duane. He preceded her in death. Janie loved to travel, played cards in numerous clubs, sang in the City of Flags, Sweet Adelines, Canton Chapter, and a member of Twins Club. Before marriage, she worked at Sugar Bowl, Neisner’s, Timken, and last at Bordner’s
Survived by two twin daughters, Becky Massarelli (Garry, deceased) of Massillon, and Betsy David of Navarre. Six grandchildren Jackie and Bill Sterling of Florida, Ryan and Stephanie David of Massillon, Darrin and Farrah David of Canton, Amy Massarelli of Massillon, Chad and Phoenix Massarelli of Canton and Melissa and Jim Giulitto of Canton. Also, there are ten great grandchildren, Dylan Sterling (Rachel) of Florida, Aly and Josh David, Devin and Carly Dunstone, Dominic and Emma Massarelli, Derek Massarelli, Marina Massarelli (deceased), Garrett Massarelli, and Case and Cameron Zavarelli. One great, great grandson Caden Dunstone.
She was a lifetime member of Faith Lutheran Church. Her service will be on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. with Tim Jenson officiating. The burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park. The family would like to thank her loving caregivers and Crossroads Hospice. You were Angels on Earth! Donations appreciated Faith Lutheran Church.
