Betty Jacobs

Betty J. (Somogy) Jacobs, age 76 of Massillon passed away Tuesday night at the Mercy Medical Center after a long illness. She was born on March 23, 1929 to the late Raymond & Erma Metz in Wadsworth, Ohio. After school she married Michael Somogy with whom she had three children. She was employed at the Ole Joe & after its’ closing, she began working for Starway Lanes, Herm’s place & East Oak Grill. After the passing of Michael Somogy, years later married Harold “Jiggs” Jacobs. Betty & Jiggs spent a great deal of time traveling & enjoying themselves with their family’s. Betty was an avid tiger fan for the past 50yrs. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands Michael Somogy & Harold “Jiggs” Jacobs, 4 sisters June Metz, Ida Fern LaFord, Edie Kirby & Gail Gilliouma. Survived by; 3 sons Michael Somogy of Burlington, NJ. Jerry “Smokey” Somogy of Phoenix, AZ Timothy & Carla Somogy of Massillon 4 Grandchildren 4 Great Grandchildren There will be calling hours on Saturday from 6-8 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home.
