Betty June Indorf

March 26, 1929 — May 2, 2026

Listen to Obituary

A life well lived came to a peaceful close for Betty June Indorf, 97, of Massillon, Ohio, on May 2, 2026. She was born on March 26, 1929 in Massillon to the late John and Florence (Steiner) Lonas.

Betty was a waitress for many years at Padula’s Restaurant where her mother was part-owner. She loved to cook, bake, and entertain anyone who stopped by—whether at her home in Massillon or her cabin at Tappan Lake, where she shared many cherished years with her beloved husband, Ray.

Anyone who knew Betty knew she was consistently patient, kind, loving, caring, giving, and always smiling. She approached every challenge in life, big or small, with grace and calmness—all the while working quietly behind the scenes. Her ability to entertain was like no other. Thanksgiving meals and Fourth of July celebrations at Tappan Lake were enjoyed by many.

Betty’s list of friends and people for whom she has provided care is endless. She was her happiest when she was doing something for others and never seemed to run out of energy. Betty could have been spotted driving around Massillon with her sister-in-law and best buddy, Dorie, while they frequented their favorite restaurants and stores, especially Marshall’s where they sometimes visited daily and were known by the employees.

Over the last few years, Betty was fortunate to spend quality time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren by visiting with them and by attending their many diverse activities. She will truly be missed by anyone who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Indorf; son, Fredrick Indorf; and infant daughter, Elizabeth Rae.

Betty is survived by her loving children, Rusty (Lynne) Indorf and Babs (Greg) Dimit; daughter-in-law, Jackie Indorf; eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to those who cared for Betty at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, Chapel Hill Community, and Crossroads Hospice.
