Sis. Bessie Lee Gibson Milton, age 73, of Massillon passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007. She was born to the late Noah & Hester Bell-Gibson on September 11, 1932, in Marianne, Florida. Bessie attended the public school system in Jackson County at McChapel Elementary School & Union Grove high school. At an early age, she confessed the Lord Jesus Christ and joined the McChapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. While serving as a member of McChapel, she was very active in Sunday School & singing in the choir. On July 8, 1953, she united in marriage to the late William (Bill) Milton. After marriage, they moved to Massillon to continue their lives together & have a family, in which one daughter, Diane preceded her in death. On April 15, 2007, the master answered & healed Bessie by gently taking her safely in his arms. During her visitation with us on earth, she touched the lives of many people. She was a born again spirit minded person. She loved the Lord and people. She loved her church. As a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, she loved everyone. She served as a missionary and she loved singing in the choir. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Diane Hastings, Sister, Rosa (Pat) Hye, brothers, George, Noah III, Robert David Sr. & Robert (Man) Gibson. Survived by 3 children Willie Mae & Willie Williams of Massillon William (Jet) & Deloris Gibson of Fla. William Milton Jr. of CA. 2 sisters Lucy Nickles of Fla. Mary Gibson of Fla. 4 brothers Otis & Dorothy Gibson of Fla. Willie (Bill) & Annette Gibson of Fla. Mervin Gibson of Fla. Kenneth Gibson & Sallie Mearl of Fla. Grandchildren Ashley, Lolita, Melinda, Keisha, Nikita, Jamaal, Danetta, Antjwan, & Eric. Great grandchildren 15 & a host of nieces & nephews A funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Massillon. The Paquelet Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The burial will take place at Massillon Cemetery.
