Alfreda S. 'Fritz' Burkett, 94, of Jackson Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Amherst Meadows with her family by her side. Alfreda was born on March 4, 1931 in Massillon, the daughter of the late Andrew and Pelage (Budny) Wojcinski.
Alfreda was a lifelong resident of Massillon and graduate of Washington High School. She worked for several local car dealerships, retiring from Remlinger Oldsmobile at age 67. She enjoyed being with family at her pool, doing crafts, crocheting, and working in her flower gardens. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Frank (Bonnie) Burkett, Jr., Kathy (Tim) Stebler, and Thomas (Sue) Burkett; grandchildren, Frank (Amber) Burkett, III, Amy (Don Olszewski) Burkett, Tim (Sara) Stebler, Jennifer Cooper, Katie (Rob) Henninger, Christy Burkett; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Louis (Donna) Wojcinski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Burkett, Sr., brother, Fr. Tony Wojcinski, and sisters, Mary Tabellion, and Pat Ivan.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Amherst Meadows and CrossRoads Hospice for their compassion and care.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 9 - 10:30 am at the Paquelt Funeral Home with A Mass of Christian Burial following at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church at 11 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CrossRoads Hospice: www.crhcf.org.
