God only let us have Adam for 40 years before He called him home. As painful as it is that he was taken from this earth, we find peace knowing where he is and that he has been made whole again.
Adam brought light to everyone’s life who knew him — whether it was in a brief meeting, working together, or if you were close to him. To know him was to know what it feels like to be loved, seen, heard, understood, and important. He was witty, sarcastic, loving, thoughtful, and hilarious, and he loved a good debate. He was never short on candy or cookies and loved pizza and Mountain Dew.
Adam had a loud laugh that instantly made you laugh too — that laugh will be greatly missed. If you knew Adam, you knew what it felt like to belly laugh, laugh until you cried, and laugh so hard it hurt. His humor was dark at times, and he loved to tease his niece and nephews.
He was a dancing queen who made up random songs. He was dramatic and wonderful. He was loved tremendously.
Since he was young, Adam loved horror films — Friday the 13th being his favorite. He loved watching them, talking about them, ranking them, and reviewing them. He loved the Pink Power Ranger; his favorite Pokémon was Eevee. He was a gamer, loved reality shows, loved drag shows (he loved his queens), and his favorite color was pink. He loved dancing with his friends, scaring people, telling jokes, pulling pranks, doing face masks, traveling, supporting the LGBTQIA2S+ community, unicorns, rainbows, Christmas, and his birthday.
Adam is survived by his mother, Kimberly (Thomas) Cranston; father, James Scharver; sister, Jill (Anthony) Damschroder; brother, Joe (Chelsea) Scharver; niece, Delaney Damschroder; nephews, Kelly Damschroder and Ezra Scharver; close cousins, Angela Podnar and Miranda Traverso; grandmother, Linda Courlas; many uncles, aunts, cousins, and his many friends who were also his family.
Adam would want his community and friends to know how much he loved you — how grateful he was for you, how you made him feel like he belonged because he could relate to you, and how you made his life better. You brought a light into his life that no one else could. He was truly so appreciative of you.
Adam was reunited with his beloved dogs Rosie and Olivia, his childhood dog Hope, and his hamster Summer — whom he loved dearly but who sadly died after choking on a popcorn kernel (sorry).
Adams Aunt Debbie, who he was close to, greeted him in Heaven along with his grandparents, cousin, aunts, and uncles.
There aren’t enough words or enough time to fully describe Adam. Just know he was loved deeply. He was such a bright light that the world is now dimmer, and he was all things good.
The family had a private goodbye and will share when the celebration of life will take place.
Thank you for all the love you gave to us, Adam. It was so deep we will carry it with us forever. We won’t say goodbye but see you around. We know you’ll visit us, give us reminders you’re with us and that we will join you one day and you’ll embrace us with one of your warm hugs and beautiful smile. You’ve connected so many of us by simply being you.
“If Eevee taught us anything, it’s that no matter how you start in life, you can grow, become any color of the rainbow, and no matter how you evolve or who you become, you will be somebody’s favorite.” – Adam James Scharver (Adam 2.0)
