Adam J. Kress, 46, of Massillon, OH, passed away April 6, 2026, after a brief illness.
Adam was born on April 12, 1979, in Canton, OH to Dave and Linda Kress. He was a graduate of Louisville High School. Adam was drawn to music at a very young age, teaching himself to play guitar at 12 years old, alongside his best friend, Cory, who played drums. Throughout his life, he explored all aspects of music, such as playing in bands, going to concerts, and exploring all different types of genres. Naturally, Adam’s favorite was rock music. Adam also enjoyed passing time (any way he could) with his motorcycles, whether he was building them, maintaining them or just simply joy riding his Ducati on a beautiful day. In Adam’s current years, his family found that he had a green thumb. He loved to plant seeds and grow various crops such as tomatoes, hot peppers, herbs, and wild flowers. Adam was a very hard worker and was extremely intelligent. In addition to teaching himself guitar, he also taught himself several important life skills such as software developing, cooking, and anything he could find on YouTube. Adam’s thirst for knowledge is something he bestowed upon his boys, as they continue to grow in this world. Adam was quite witty, with an awesome sense of humor, and was well loved by all.
Adam leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Emily Kress; his two sons, Evan and Alex Kress, and his best pal, Hendrix. He will also be missed by his parents, Dave and Linda Kress; siblings David (Lesa) Kress, Michael Kress, Andy (Karen) Kress, and Lindsay (Bruce) Jobe; a host of nieces and nephews, whom he was known as “Uncle Adam” to; parents in law Bill and Gail McGrady; siblings in law Bill McGrady Jr., Andrea (David) Keim, and Tim (Lori) McGrady.
Visitation will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 4- 6 PM, at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd., Massillon, OH 44646, where a celebration honoring Adam will start promptly at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Massillon.
