Robert L. Berger, 89, of Massillon, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Bob was born on September 27, 1931 in Hammond, IN, the son of the late Lee and Virginia (Lewis) Berger. Bob was a 1949 graduate of Washington High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic control radio systems specialist at the Rhein-Main Air Base in Frankfurt, Germany. He was extremely appreciative of the opportunity to serve in Germany with his fellow servicemen as Europe recovered from the aftermath of WWII. Bob retired from SKF and Crown Cork and Seal as an industrial electrician. He was very caring gentleman, and a great role model. Bob was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Massillon where he served with his wife in various outreach programs. Bob was also a member of The Wilderness Center where he learned to do his amazing wood carving. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Janet Berger; and brothers, Edwin “Jim” and David Berger. He is survived by his children, Robert “Randy” (Denise) Berger, of Cary, NC and Karen (Jim) Brown of Albuquerque, NM; grandsons, Alex (Queenie) Brown and Benjamin Brown; great-granddaughter, Delilah Mae Brown; brother, Norbert “Bud” (Cathy) Berger; sister-in-law, Donna (Mike) Nicholas; and nieces and nephews, Eric (Beth) Berger, Kevin (Lisa) Berger, Renee (Bob) Bross, Maria (Dan) Decker, Ausia Berger, Shelly (Terry) Hogan, and Denise (John) Birkbeck. A private graveside service will be held at Brookfield Cemetery in Massillon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church - Massillon.
