Michael Alesescu

Michael Alesescu, 93, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Laurels of Massillon, following a brief illness. He was born in Canton on October 31, 1919 to the late George & Helen (Balabon) Alesescu. Michael was a lifelong resident of the Massillon & Navarre area. He was a truck driver with Commercial Motor Freight. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army, 93rd Artillery. He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Davis & Cinda (David) Turansky both of Canton, three grandchildren, Ryan K. Davis, Tammy M. Goodrich & Jessica L. Turansky & six great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Vera M. Alesescu, a granddaughter, Melissa Kandel – Nichols, a brother, George Alesescu & a sister, Helen Appleby Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM with a funeral service at 11:00AM, Celebrant Kevin O'Brien, officiating.
