James E. "Spud" Cowart

James E. “ Spud “ Cowart, 62, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 6, 2020. He was born in Canton on January 5, 1958 to Franklin and Ernestine (Braiden) Cowart. James was a loving and caring, husband, father and grandfather. He had a large heart and loved to help people. He is survived by his wife, Nora (Buttermore) Cowart; two children, William (Kristen Laine) Cowart and Cheyenne (Jared Keenan) Cowart; two grandchildren, Faithynia Keenan and Iris Cowart; two brothers, Robert and Michael Cowart; and a sister, Lola Mahaffey. He was preceded in death by his children, Rathynia Buttermore and Faith Cowart; sister, Norma Jean (Gail) Fogel; and a brother, Jerry (Lumpie) Cowart.
