Frank Kehner, 90, of Massillon passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023, at Meadow Wind Heath Care Center.
Frank was born on October 14, 1932, in Suffield, Ohio, to Fred & Clara Kehner. He grew up an avid fisherman in northeast Ohio with his brother, Fred Kehner, and spent his teenage years with extended family in North Carolina.
Frank was a resident of Massillon since 1959. After serving in the US Navy, he worked as a weather specialist for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration at the Akron-Canton Regional Airport and regularly broadcasted weather reports on WHBC-AM radio. He retired in 1992 and spent the winters as a snowbird with his wife, Ann, in The Villages, Florida, where he enjoyed many activities including karaoke and remote-control boating.
Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann Kehner; his children and their spouses, Kathy & Terry Feichter, and Tom & Kathy Kehner; his grandchildren & their spouses, Brad Feichter, Matt & Nerivnea Feichter, Molly Feichter, Stephen & Kristen Kehner, Emily Kehner, and Brian & Hayley Kehner; and his great grandsons, Theo and Cam Kehner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, June 2, 2023, at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Massillon. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00PM in the Narthex of St. Barbara’s. Following the Mass, interment at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon will be attended by immediate family only.
