Charles E. "Chuck" Stuck, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 13, 1924, in Vinton County, Ohio, to Horace and Bertha Stuck. Charles moved to Massillon in 1943. He retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad after 40 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the Massillon Lion's Club and the American Legion Post 221. Charles served with the U.S. Army during World War II from November 1943 to December 1945. He served in the 1st Company, 47th Infantry, 9th Division in the European Theater. He received the Bronze Star, the World War II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge and the French Medaille Du Jubile Award. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Horace, Jr. and Leland Stuck and his sisters, Garnet Herron and Mary Ruth Stuck. Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis (Martin) Stuck, his 5 children and their spouses, Bryan (Frances), Randy (Sharon), Leslie (Tonya), Barb (Ray) Kennedy and Charlene (John) Worrall, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Rose (Ray) Williams, Mildred (Dale) Rudy and Margie Reichel and his sister-in-law Ann Stuck. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastors Jeffrey Coggins and Julia Wertz officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Friday (TONIGHT) from 6-9 P.M. with the Massillon Lions holding their service at 5:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Stuck's name to either Epworth United Methodist Church's Building Fund or the Massillon Lion's Club.
