Bonifacia Gomez

Bonifacia Gomez, 91 of Massillon, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016. Boni was born on June 18, 1925 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Jose Andres Martin and Angela Corral. She was raised in Salamanca, Spain during the Spanish Civil War and migrated to Massillon in 1956. Soon after that her family joined her in Massillon. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon and the Spanish Women's Club in Canton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Mariano Gomez in 1986 and her sister, Manuela Gonzalez. She is survived by her children, Milagros Gomez, Jose A. Gomez, and Alicia Gomez (Sam) - Harvey; granddaughter, Angela Manderine (Fiancée James Miller); sister, Isabel Martin; and nieces and nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
