Barney D. Smoot

Barney D. Smoot, 72 of North Canton, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. He was born in Akron, Ohio on May 17, 1944 and was the son of the late Timothy and Enest(Flunoy)Smoot. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked at Akron Children's Home. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Timothy Smoot, Jr. and his grandmothers, Amie Lillie Smoot and Adella Flunoy. Barney is survived by his daughters, Bridgett Smoot, Tonya (Smoot) Haralson and Tea Evans, his sisters Beverly (Smoot) Lewis and Donna Smoot and his brothers, Thomas Smoot and Leonard Smoot. Cremation has taken place and his cremated remains will be buried at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
